PAINTED PAPER LAB

PAINTED PAPER LAB turns pigment, paste, pressure, and simple tools into richly patterned sheets made for use.
In this hands-on BOOKFORGE workshop, participants explore decorative paste paper, a centuries-old surface practice closely connected to bookbinding and the history of the handmade book. You will mix color and paste, test combs and improvised tools, pull marks through wet surfaces, layer patterns, and learn how timing and pressure change the result. The emphasis is experimental but practical: every sheet becomes potential material for covers, endpapers, cards, collage, journals, boxes, and other paper work.
No previous bookbinding or painting experience is required. Participants leave with a collection of original decorated papers and a repeatable process they can continue at home. Final price, capacity, instructor, room, drying plan, materials, and registration policy must match the ticket page.
