WORK UNDER VOLTAGE

December 11, 2026 at 10:00:00 PM

Friday, December 11 (Gallery Night) ยท 4:30 PM (doors) / 5:00 PM (program)

WORK UNDER VOLTAGE is the opening exhibition of UNION Fine Art Gallery at Erie Labor Temple and Exhibition 01 in THE FIRST CIRCUIT.

The exhibition treats labor, material intelligence, tool use, voltage, pressure, and industrial inheritance as contemporary art subjects rather than background atmosphere. It looks for work that carries force, repetition, friction, repair, machinery, current, strain, systems, failure, endurance, and the visible dignity of making. The gallery is not asking artists to illustrate a slogan. It is asking what happens when material, body, tool, and social pressure meet.

Installed inside a former labor building being returned to public use through creative work, WORK UNDER VOLTAGE makes the first circuit visible. It sets a standard for UNION: open door, high standards; art grounded in real practice; and a gallery willing to show evidence of how work is built, stressed, broken, repaired, and carried forward.
