National Book Awards night becomes a shared-room experience at Erie Labor Temple: part watch party, part cultural salon, and part friendly argument about what the industry chose to honor.
Come for finalists, selected passages, fiction, nonfiction, poetry, translated literature, young people’s literature, and the people who make books public. Stay for ballots, predictions, reactions, and conversation with people who care about the work behind the broadcast. The room stays reader-centered: excerpts, conversation, and attention to language before the winners are announced. This is an ELT-hosted viewing gathering, not an official event of the presenting organization.
