PAPYRUS SCROLLS // FAMILY MATINEE introduces the scroll as a working book form through hands-on making with genuine papyrus. Participants join prepared papyrus panels into a continuous surface, learn how the direction of the fibers affects the material, and experiment with what happens to drawing, writing, and sequence when there is no page turn.
The session is deliberately accessible and highly guided. Each maker leaves with one finished miniature papyrus scroll, a natural-fiber tie, protective transport sleeve, and an illustrated BOOKFORGE Scroll Anatomy handout.
No previous bookbinding experience is required. All tools and materials are included.
