Workshop: Hoodoo “Chicken Foot” Charm

This hands-on workshop centers the making of a symbolic chicken-foot charm as an object of protection, memory, and folk practice. Participants will work through preparation, wrapping, assembly, surface treatment, and display choices while considering how materials acquire meaning through use, story, and cultural transmission.
The session must do more than borrow an image for spooky season. Responsible presentation requires a qualified instructor, clear historical and cultural framing, careful sourcing, respectful language, and an honest distinction between learning about a tradition and claiming authority within it. Participants will leave with a completed object only after the final curriculum, materials, safety procedures, and cultural context have been approved.
