About the event
THE SECRET SPINE // FAMILY MATINEE introduces the Secret Belgian, or crisscross, binding through a guided build designed for newer binders and families working together.
Prepared components keep the focus on assembly, sewing rhythm, tension, and how the covers, spine piece, and text sections work together. The binding remains visible and becomes part of the finished design.
Each maker leaves with one completed flat-opening journal. Recommended for ages 12+. Minors must attend with a ticketed participating adult. No previous bookbinding experience is required. Materials included.
