Emergency Edition No. 001 — AFTER THE DEADLINE

November 21, 2026 at 10:00:00 PM

Saturday, November 21 · 4:30 PM (doors) / 5:00 PM (performance)

EMERGENCY EDITION turns Erie Labor Temple into a functioning publishing house for one night. At the start, a single question, proposition, instruction, or unresolved civic-cultural problem is revealed. Invited contributors and participating members of the public then have only a few hours to respond.

Words are written. Images are made. Evidence is gathered. Pages are edited and designed. Printers run. Paper is folded, collated, stitched, and bound. Before the building closes, the edition must exist as a physical object: numbered, dated, archived, and released that night.

AFTER THE DEADLINE is live publishing as performance, but the object is not a prop. It becomes a public record of what this particular room could make under pressure. There is no later revision, second edition, or reprint. The deadline is not branding. It is the machine.
