OPEN BENCH
September 8, 2026 at 6:00:00 PM
Every Tuesday · 6:00–10:00 PM
Open Bench is a weekly gathering for the work already in your hands—or the thing you have been meaning to begin. Bring a sketchbook, sewing, collage, bookwork, mending, carving, knitting, model-making, paper craft, small repairs, or whatever portable project needs time and a place to happen.
There is no lesson plan, assigned project, or expectation that you produce anything by the end of the night. Work quietly on your own, share a table with other makers, trade ideas, ask a question, lend a hand, or simply spend a few hours around people who are also making something.
Like all ELT Soft Socials, Open Bench is room-fluid: the gathering uses whatever suitable space is open in the building and moves around fixed-room programs, workshops, rentals, and other activity. Bring the tools and materials your work requires unless ELT has specifically made something available for shared use.

What to Expect
Open Bench is ELT’s Tuesday-night Soft Social for bringing unfinished work, starting something new, working alongside other people, and making at your own pace without a class, deadline, or required outcome.
