About the event

Save the material. Show the structure.

COPTIC ECO-JOURNALS // FAMILY MATINEE turns reclaimed and surplus bookmaking materials into a functional exposed-spine journal. Participants work with prepared cover boards, grain-correct paper sections, waxed linen thread, and a simplified linked sewing sequence.

The more failure-prone measuring and preparation is completed before class so makers can concentrate on sewing rhythm, tension, book anatomy, and how the visible structure holds the object together. Each participant leaves with one finished Coptic-style journal and an illustrated sewing-route handout.

Recommended ages 12+. Participants under 18 must attend with a ticketed participating adult. No previous bookbinding experience is required. Materials included.
