About the event
Build the book that gets out of the image's way.
The Drumleaf is a modern adhesive structure particularly useful for photographs, prints, drawings, and visual sequences. Individual folded folios are joined with minimal adhesive at the fore-edge and spine, allowing an image to cross the center of a spread without stitching interrupting the field.
During DRUMLEAF // LAY-FLAT BOOKS // AFTER HOURS, participants build the structure from the inside out while working through grain direction, folio preparation, registration, adhesive restraint, squaring, cover construction, pressing, and common causes of distortion.
18+ only. Participants leave with one finished hardcover Drumleaf photo/artist book plus a dimensional worksheet and construction diagram. Beginners are welcome, but precision matters. Materials included.
