PAPYRUS SCROLLS // AFTER HOURS moves deeper into one of the oldest technologies of the book. Working with genuine papyrus, participants construct a functional scroll while examining fiber direction, recto and verso, joining logic, rolling behavior, beginnings and endings, and the creative possibilities of a continuous field.
The finished object may become text, drawing, diagram, visual sequence, asemic writing, or artist book. Participants leave with one completed artist/writer scroll, protective sleeve, and a BOOKFORGE technical handout covering terminology and repeatable construction.
18+ only. Beginners are welcome. Materials included.
