After a conversation with a friend about what are was and who could do art, my friend spilled some coffee on his napkin (by mistake, I think). He then held it up and said, "Modern art. Look, I'm an artist!" We both laughed at his little joke.

Some time later, I went back tot he little cafe in Federal Way, called Marist's, and did a quick coffee sketch of one of the baristas at the drive through window. It was very flat with no depth, but I know I could paint with the coffee.

I went home and experimented with different mediums and forms of coffee from grounds to brew. In time I came up with the process I use today.

From the original sketch, Barista with Srup Bottles was the first full painting I did with my coffee process.

This Giclée print was made using Crescent Professional Watercolor Paper and finest Epson archival pigment based inks. Giclée prints are considered to be a high quality fine art print. This print was made to endure years of admiration but should be treated the same way as the original to ensure a long life.
