URBAN HATCH // WORKING PROOF 03

02 // ERIE DESIGN — FIRST IMPRESSION
Someone designed this. Someone made the pattern. Someone cast it in metal, and someone put it to work beneath the feet of a city.
Most of us have never stopped to look at it.
This early Urban Hatch proof captures part of an Erie-designed utility cover, allowing the original cast geometry and accumulated surface wear to speak for themselves.
There is no secondary ELT logo or tagline impression. The incomplete transfer, interruptions, and changing ink density belong to the original printing experiment.
What was once a functional object in the street becomes a study in design, wear, and the labor behind ordinary things.
